Required Admissions Materials

Deadline for all required materials is January 5th, 2020.

1.  Completed Tulane School of Liberal Arts (SLA) application for Graduate Study

2.  Unofficial Transcripts

  • We no longer require an official transcript to apply.  Applicants can upload an unofficial transcript with the application.  If you accept an admission offer from Tulane, you will be required to submit your official transcript then.

3.  Official reports from Graduate Record Exam (GRE)

  • Official GRE test scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to the CCC Program via the Tulane School of Liberal Arts, the code is: 6183.

4.  Statement of purpose

  • You should upload the statement of purpose through the SLA Online Application to Graduate Program.
  • Identify one or two Tulane professors with whom you envision writing a dissertation and explain your choice(s) as related to your statement of purpose.

5.  Three letters of recommendation from academic and professional sources

6.  Curriculum vitae (CV) or résumé

7.  [Foreign students only] Official reports from Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

  • ALL applicants who are not citizens of a country in which English is the primary language are required to submit a TOEFL score. If you are not a U.S. citizen, the application form checklist at the end of the application will indicate if you are required to submit a TOEFL.
