CCC students are encouraged to begin considering a dissertation topic as soon as they enter the program. Eight required elective courses provide opportunities to acquire new knowledge and hone the field of dissertation research. Two required qualifying exams in different areas aligned with the dissertation topic amplify the student’s expertise prior to the preparation of the dissertation prospectus in the fourth year of the program.
