Biography

Allison’s research interest focuses on the sociology of higher education and how the organizational mission of colleges and universities influences undergraduate education. Allison is especially interested in how universities shape curricula centered in organizational mission and how students make meaning of their educational experiences through the lens of university mission.

 

Allison Cruz is the director of academic programs at Newcomb-Tulane College, the undergraduate college of Tulane University. In this role Allison leads a team of professional and student staff to produce curricular and co-curricular experiences that enhance the undergraduate academic experience. Allison was born in rural Illinois, but has since lived in Florida, Louisiana, Montana, New York, Tennessee, and back to Louisiana for good.
