Isaac Freitas has lived throughout the United States, but considers Longmont, Colorado as his hometown. He earned bachelor degrees in Sociology and in Economics from Colorado State University, located in the beautiful city of Fort Collins. Isaac continued his studies by finishing an M.A. in Sociology at Colorado State University. Isaac uses both qualitative and quantitative methodologies in his research. In his master's program, he used interviews and participant observation to study the role of poetry slams as sites of resistance. He also works to develop technical skills in using the R and Python programming languages for quantitative analysis. His research interests have continued to evolve and include communication, social media, community, and disaster research.
